Halloween and a rant at old people...
So yes, yesterday was the day of Halloween. An American tradition but we celebrate it here as well...well might as well steal their holidays as well as their language and programs haha. I went on a ghost walk around my local town. And pretty much as expected i didn't see anything though I'd really have liked to!! I really wish i could see a ghost, spirit, poltergeist anything really to give me that extra hope of an alternate, better life. But it was really interesting. For instance i found that the market place is actually built on top of a graveyard...so I'd watch out guys when your next walking over them paved stones!! It's rather unsettling the number of people who take up their market stalls on it, they must be applying loads of weight on top of them bodies =

So there were ghost stories galore...anything from tight rope performers between the two towers of the Cathedral, to vanishing bell ringers and death omen carriages...absolutely brilliant to put it mildly =P

Today, was just annoying though. I was stood unsuspecting in a bus station when two women of about 50 joined the queue and started talking about teenagers. There line of talk basically involved criticizing the youths freedom...yeah just because they didn't have it in their time doesn't mean we should face a barrage of restriction today. Then it moved to the uniforms or rather she said 'i suppose they do have a uniform of some description under all that stuff, it wouldn't have been allowed in my time'...yeah love times have changed you know. Finally the one that had my blood boiling...and certainly would for many teenagers alike, 'to think that these people are going to be running the country in a few years time'!!

Now is a comment like that really necessary....i couldn't turn round and talk to her about it because its against my nature but I'll use this as an opportunity shall i?

Right here we go, reasons why teenagers are an essential part of today's society:
• we as a social group tend not to criticise our elders, unless it is justified. We do not vilify them we appreciate them, after all they have molded us to our present selves they are an overhanging shadow of us. There is no escaping their influence
• we do not complain as they are slowly using our nations economy up
• we are the new generation, we are the people who will control this country, we are the people who are the future
• someone within our age could be the person to find the cure for cancer, the cure for aids.
• someone you know could be helping YOU in future. If old people need help, medical or otherwise who cares for them? but us...we will be there looking after them
• who is more qualified to deal with life? but us
• fair enough 1 to every 2 of us are probably 'scruffs', 'chavs' and just general nuisances but there are the other percentage who are worthwhile and do have intelligence and they are going to shape this country
• times HAVE changed. Think back to your childhood and you can see how things have changed...i bet a time didn't go by that you wanted to be free but couldn't....that you wanted to dress differently, but couldn't....that you wanted to be individual but couldn't. So really...are you expressing your real opinions or is it just jealousy? Think you were here at this age once, what were you like?
• and to answer the new generation question, elders were the new generation at one time....they've mucked up society, but we've survived haven't we? People make mistakes and its not because they're young and ill-educated
So before any elders jump to criticism of teenagers....look at themselves at that age and consider THEIR view!!!!

So glad i could get that off my chest,

so au revoir for now....til the next time x
